1) CHE Research Fellowships – Call for applications
Applications are invited from researchers wishing to visit the Centre for Health Economics at the University of York in order to produce a collaborative piece of research, led by the applicant. Applications from experienced career researchers (assistant professor/research fellow/lecturer and above) are particularly welcome, but we will consider early career researchers who make an exceptionally strong application and have a well thought out project proposal. The value of the fellowship is up to £6,000, exclusively for contributing towards living and travel expenses associated with the visit. Visits should take place between August 2023 and July 2024.
The Fellowships were first launched in 2006 as a tribute to Alan Williams and to enable health economists from anywhere in the world to spend time in York, working on collaborative research.
Criteria:
Applicants should have a clear and achievable research plan in any area of health economics, broadly defined within the current research interests of the Centre for Health Economics.
The research should be collaborative with one or more CHE researchers, but will be led by the applicant. It is likely to strengthen your application if you have had scoping conversations with potential CHE collaborators in advance of the application.
A list of specific research interests of CHE staff is provided below, although this is intended to be indicative rather than comprehensive. Further information on each area of CHE research is available on our website.
The proposals should be for a visit to the Centre for Health Economics of between two and six months duration.
Fellows will present their research to a CHE Seminar during their visit.

3) Job opportunity: Research Associate in Health Economics, University of Manchester

This is an exciting pre-doctoral position to work mainly on the NIHR-funded study evaluating social prescribing schemes in England and Scotland. They will join the Economic Sustainability Research Theme within the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration for Greater Manchester, based at the University of Manchester.

Role
The Research Fellow will work within the Global Health team. They will support methodological work within the NIHR Global Health Research Unit. They will work collaboratively alongside project partners from the UK, Brazil, Indonesia, South Africa and India. Over time they will contribute to a range of projects in methods for economic evaluation and quantitative methods work in Brazil, Indonesia, South Africa and India.

7) Health Economist needed for the TSC for an NIHR PHR study
We are looking for an independent health economist to join the Trial Steering Committee (TSC) for an NIHR PHR feasibility study.
This is a feasibility multicentre randomised controlled trial to test the clinical and cost-effectiveness of the MATILDA intervention to support older adults with learning disability to their improve health, wellbeing and social networks compared to usual care.
The study commenced on Feb 23, and it is a 30 month trial. The TSC is expected to meet online 1-2 times a year and the DMEC is expected to meet online 1-2 times a year.
