MRC Skills Development Fellowships (Previously Strategic Skills Fellowships), UK
Following completion of a review of MRC's strategic skills priorities, the revised priority list has now been published on our website along with a report of the skills survey outcomes.
The review has brought a refocus of the early career Skills Development Fellowships (previously Strategic Skills Fellowships) and will support training in two main areas: quantitative expertise and expertise at the social science interface. Both of these areas are suitable for applicants seeking to undertake research and training centred on economics.
Applicants from an economics or social sciences research background should be seeking to develop new expertise and skills by applying economics or social sciences methods to biomedical and/or health research across MRC’s remit, including the development of novel methods in these areas if needed for the application. Applicants with established quantitative or social science skills (working outside health economics) should be seeking to apply these to, and acquire training/skills in, health economics.  Applicants with a health economics background should be seeking to train in and develop new quantitative and/or social science skills.
The deadline for this years competition is 16th June 2015.
