Planning is now underway for the 16th Annual Southeastern Health Economics Study Group Conference to be held on November 6 and 7 at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta in Atlanta, GA. Last year’s conference in Tallahassee, FL received great reviews and we hope to match that success this year. The sponsors for this year¹s event will be the Center for Human Capital Studies at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and the W. J. Usery Chair of the American Workplace and the Bernard B. and Eugenia A. Ramsey Chair of Private Enterprise in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University. The call for abstracts is attached. We would appreciate it if you would share the announcement with your colleagues.
Ten papers will be accepted for presentation. The conference will consist of a full day of presentations on Friday, November 6 and a half-day of presentations on Saturday, November 7. Each paper will be allotted one hour, including 35 minutes for presentation and 25 minutes for discussant comments and discussion from the floor. The number of participants in the conference will be limited. It is expected that participants will read the papers prior to the conference and attend all sessions. While submissions are invited from any geographical location, preference will be given to presenters from the Southeastern region of the United States.
If you would like to participate in this invitational conference, please submit an abstract (maximum of two pages) in electronic format (pdf preferred) [log in para visualizar] by May 17, 2015. Submissions may be on any aspect of health economics and may be empirical or theoretical, but should not have been accepted for publication prior to presentation at the conference. Authors will be notified of acceptance on or before June 30, 2015. Please do not hesitate to contact one of us with any questions.
