CHANGING PARADIGMS IN HEALTH ECONOMICS OF GENOMICS AND ADVANCED
MOLECULAR DIAGNOSTICS
“Bridging Science and Health Policy” 30 September 2015, Vienna
www.githe.eu
GITHE’s work program adopts a broader characterization of the term PM in line with current opinions expressed by international panels. Therefore, GITHE’s work will focus on the many dimensions in which PM may bring health economics value to individuals in the society, including supporting the development and technology assessment of selected biomarkers and diagnostic information on disease prevention and treatment outcomes (i.e. prognostic factor research); the development, validation, and impact of models that predict individual risk of a future outcome (i.e. prognostic model research); the use of prognostic information to help tailor treatment decisions to an individual (i.e. personalized medicine) or group of individuals (i.e. stratified medicine) with similar characteristics; the elicitation and measurement of the value individuals place on prognostic information and how this is used in their decision making process in the medical encounter.
With its focus on evaluation of early (preclinical) technologies, GITHE can enhance and accelerate development of promising personalized medicine technologies by identifying those with high potential for economic benefit, as well as identifying key factors related to the technology that will “drive” cost-effectiveness (e.g., test sensitivity, practicality of use, acceptability by the user).

Call for abstracts
http://www.githe.eu/symposium-2015/call-for-abstracts/
We kindly invite the submission of abstracts on methodological and applied research related to Health Economics and Personalized Medicine: changing paradigms in health economics of genomics and advanced molecular diagnostics, for presentation in our guided poster session.
General abstract guidelines:
• All abstracts must be submitted by September 1, 2015 by email via [log in para visualizar]
• All abstract submissions and poster presentations must be in English.
• Symposium registration is required for all presenters.
• Expenses associated with the submission and presentation of an abstract are the responsibility of the presenter.
• The presenters of research are required to disclose financial support. Abstract review will NOT be based on this information.
• The abstract, excluding title and author information, should be no longer than 300 words.
• The use of tables and graphs in your abstract submission is not allowed.
• Preference is given to Young Investigator or PhD-student’s research.
• Authors will be notified of abstract acceptance by September 15st, 2015
• Accepted abstracts will be distributed AS SUBMITTED at the Symposium and published on the GITHE website. Changes to abstracts will not be accepted after the Submission Deadline, therefore, they should be carefully written and edited prior to submission.
