1) Vacancies for two Grade 7 Researchers in Health Economics at HERC, University of Oxford, UK

Researcher in Health Economics
Oxford Population Health (Nuffield Department of Population Health, University of Oxford), Old Road Campus, Headington, Oxford

The Nuffield Department of Population Health (NDPH) contains world renowned population health research groups and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching. Based within NDPH, the Health Economics Research Centre (HERC) is a well-established group involved in a wide range of methodological and applied research projects, both national and international. These posts provide the opportunity to conduct health economic research on a wide range of large data sets collected as part of clinical trials, registries and administrative databases.

As a Researcher in Health Economics you will be: reviewing and summarising published literature; contributing to the set-up of international observational studies; preparing case report forms; drafting health economics analysis plans; drafting progress reports; cleaning, formatting and conducting analyses on economic/clinical data from trials and/or large observational datasets; and interpreting findings. You will also manage your own academic research and administrative activities under supervision from senior researchers. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.

To be considered, you will hold a Masters degree in a subject related to health economics. You will have substantial research experience and possess sufficient specialist knowledge of the discipline to work within established research programmes and show evidence of understanding, expression and application of concepts and methods. You will also have strong data analysis skills, especially in statistical methods within health economics, ability to work independently, effectively, and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and excellent interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to write for publication, present research proposals and results, and represent the research group at meetings.
