In collaboration with health economists/other professionals, the post holder will contribute to assessing the value of Digital Pathology across Barts NHS Hospital Trust by assessing staff productivity using time and motion studies, diagnostic workflow’s resources and costs using workflows’ mapping and costing methodologies, and routine process and clinical outcomes using interrupted time-series analyses. The Role
We would like an enthusiastic Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to lead and further develop research and teaching in quantitative public health, with a focus on health inequalities, the social determinants of health and use of large secondary data sets. As part of this role you will be expected to contribute to curriculum development and the wider academic, scholarly and professional requirements of the Institute and the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Newcastle University.

6) Health Economics Research Unit (HERU), University of Aberdeen

HERU is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow in Health Economics for a period of 1-year. The postholder will provide analytical support for an existing project that is examining the impact of 'Minimum Unit Pricing for alcohol on food purchases' and provide research input for HERU's Workforce and Organisation of Care theme to develop new projects and funding applications. 

Appointees to Grade 6 level will be expected to have a PhD in economics/health economics or an MSc in economics/health economics plus prior experience that demonstrates the skills and capabilities required for this position. Candidates must have prior experience of econometric data analysis. Some familiarity with existing secondary panel datasets in health is also desirable.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 6, £34,304 - £37,467 per annum with placement according to qualifications and experience.

We are looking for a skilled Senior Technical Analyst to guide the organisation through this period of dynamic transformation.

The Role
Reporting to the Technical Adviser, the Senior Technical Analyst will be responsible for providing advice and technical support to committees on economic issues during development and updating of guidelines. This includes systematically identifying and appraising economic evidence to address key health and social care questions and preparing structured summaries of the evidence.

The post holder will also undertake the development of original, applied decision models and analyses that will be used to inform the deliberations of the guideline committee (comprising decision-makers who are predominantly clinical, public health, social care and patient experts with limited formal expertise in economics).

Providing a quality assurance function, the post holder will be involved in reviewing guidelines produced by other developers to ensure they reflect the economic evidence appropriately. This function also includes ensuring that economic modelling and statistical analyses produced by the developer have been conducted robustly, are in line with NICE’s methods and are free from technical errors.

There will also be the opportunity to mentor junior analysts.

What you will bring to NICE
The primary requirement for the position is demonstrable ability in the practical application of mathematical modelling to inform real-world decision problems.

The post holder should be able to demonstrate the following:
•         Skills and experience in economics, decision analytic modelling, ideally gained in the context of economic evaluation for health, public health or social care.
•         Expert ability in the analysis and synthesis of quantitative data.
•         Ability to communicate the methods and results of complex analyses to a range of audiences, both orally and in writing.

8) Project Director: Health Economic Modelling

We are looking to recruit a Project Director to join our growing health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) team.  This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced health economic modeller to undertake and lead a range of modelling projects as well as help shape the structure and strategic focus of the HEOR team.  The successful candidate will also have a direct input into the identification and hiring of junior HEOR researchers alongside the Associate Director for HEOR.  This role would be suitable for permanent remote working.  We are a health economics research and consulting company owned by, and based at, the University of York.  We provide consultancy and research to a wide range of public and private sector bodies. 

The Project Director will report to the Associate Director of HEOR and will contribute to the performance and profitability of YHEC Ltd in the following areas:

Research Officer in Health Economics

Bangor University is seeking to appoint a Research Officer to its Centre for Health Economics and Medicines Evaluation (CHEME). Applications are invited from post-doctoral researchers with an existing track record of research, to join the Pharmaceutical Economics, Policy and Prescribing Research (PEPPER) group within CHEME.

This post offers an excellent opportunity for career development and progression, with the successful candidate gaining experience in methodological and applied research in health economic evaluation, priority-setting and resource allocation. The post will focus on the economics and commissioning of gene-based diagnostics and therapies, and contribute to development and application of methods of economic evaluation in paediatric clinical trials.

The post will be part of an established and expanding research group with excellence in conducting pharmaceutical policy research and economic evaluations, and contributing to the activities of national HTA organisations. Opportunities in methodological research will be via our involvement with the MRC/NIHR Trials Methodology Research Partnership.
The post holder will be responsible for the planning, conduct, analysis and reporting of research projects undertaken by the research group, often in conjunction with external partners.
In the first instance, the research officer will focus on:
•	Reviewing the evidence for differential valuation of benefit attributes relating to Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products.
•	Contribute to the development of a toolkit for the national commissioning of genetics services in Wales, including surveys of stakeholder perspectives.
•	Economic evaluation of azithromycin in children with neurological impairment at risk of lower respiratory tract infection.
