PhD THESIS OFFER
* People interested in developing a PhD research career with research
lines involved in an international project EU+USA level.
* Possibility of direct funding at the initial stages through a
research contract.
Lines of research:
• Multiscale modeling of advanced Nano-structured materials for
engineering.
Super-Materials at limit conditions (extreme pressures and radiation
conditions).
• Theoretical design of new advanced materials for Industry.
• Possibility of participation in a EU network of research and
inside a trans-national
consortium of Spanish experts in Materials and Nanotechnology.
Prerequisites:
- Graduate on Physics, Chemistry, or Engineering.
- MSc in Materials is a plus.
- Essential and of critical importance: Have a good academic record (> 2.0)
* Motivation and ability to work in a cross-field inside
multidisciplinary teams.
* Feeling excite and enthusiastic to explore new fields.
* High degree of understanding
* Ability to communicate and work inside a team.
* Desirable a high level of programming. Used to work in Linux OS
environments.
* MD simulation skills are a plus.
* Possibility to do short-medium term stays in foreign high-level
research institutions.
You will work in a young but enthusiastic environment, now based in
Burgos. I+D+I research center & Scientific Park.
Close collaboration with Univ. of Oviedo and IMDEA materials (Madrid).
Permanent collaborations with International Institutions like: Los
Alamos National Laboratory (USA), CNRS (France), the French “elite”
University Ecole Normale Superieure - Lyon (France), the neutron
reactor facility Institute Laue Langevin (ILL) – Grenoble (France) ...
