In recent years, the Centre for Health Economics (CHE) has significantly progressed its activities in global health economics, expanding our existing research strengths in this field by developing a portfolio of high quality methodological and applied research of national and international policy relevance. An important strand of Global Health Economics research at CHE is about policy impact evaluation using quasi-experimental research methods, with an increasing focus on the use of machine learning. We are seeking to appoint a Grade 6 Research Fellow to contribute to this research agenda, with a strong background in quantitative methods, such as econometrics, statistics and machine learning, and an interest in developing and applying those methods for the purpose of health policy impact evaluation.

We are looking to fill two posts to provide health economics inputs and analysis for projects within the AI Centre for Value Based Healthcare (AI4VBH), Wellcome/EPSRC Centre for Medical Engineering (CME) and the King's Technology Evaluation Centre (KiTEC). The role will largely be based within the School of Biomedical Engineering and Imaging Sciences at St Thomas' Hospital but with management and support from the King's Health Economics team at the Denmark Hill campus. The job provides an opportunity to lead inputs in cost analyses, economic evaluations alongside trials, modelling, health technology assessment of medical devices and other large studies. The post will play a pivotal role in helping define innovative models and evaluation to facilitate the development of valuable AI technologies and to maximise their impact for patients and the healthcare economy.
