1) Research Fellow, Centre for Health Economics, University of York

In recent years, the Centre for Health Economics (CHE) has significantly progressed its activities in global health economics, expanding our existing research strengths in this field by developing a portfolio of high quality methodological and applied research of national and international policy relevance. An important strand of Global Health Economics research at CHE is about policy impact evaluation using quasi-experimental research methods, with an increasing focus on the use of machine learning. We are seeking to appoint a Grade 6 Research Fellow to contribute to this research agenda, with a strong background in quantitative methods, such as econometrics, statistics and machine learning, and an interest in developing and applying those methods for the purpose of health policy impact evaluation.

We are looking to fill two posts to provide health economics inputs and analysis for projects within the AI Centre for Value Based Healthcare (AI4VBH), Wellcome/EPSRC Centre for Medical Engineering (CME) and the King's Technology Evaluation Centre (KiTEC). The role will largely be based within the School of Biomedical Engineering and Imaging Sciences at St Thomas' Hospital but with management and support from the King's Health Economics team at the Denmark Hill campus. The job provides an opportunity to lead inputs in cost analyses, economic evaluations alongside trials, modelling, health technology assessment of medical devices and other large studies. The post will play a pivotal role in helping define innovative models and evaluation to facilitate the development of valuable AI technologies and to maximise their impact for patients and the healthcare economy. 

The Centres promote a culture of independent thinking, teamwork, and scientific excellence. Excellent written communication skills are paramount. This is an opportunity to have a role in influencing the adoption of healthcare innovation at an international level. This post offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience to a wide range of HTA methods in the rapidly-evolving fields of medical devices and digital health technology.

4) Research Associate in Health Economics (Quantitative) for the SIPHER Consortium - ScHARR, University of Sheffield

We have an exciting opportunity in the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR) for someone looking to use their skills in quantitative data analysis. As a quantitative Research Associate you will join the SIPHER (Systems science in Public Health and Health Economics Research) consortium. 

Preventing ill health related to the “social determinants of health” requires well-coordinated policies across many sectors. SIPHER will deliver novel evidence of the costs and benefits of the complex, interlinked and long-term consequences of policy decisions. For further details of SIPHER, see https://sipher.ac.uk/. 

You will have a PhD (or be close to completion) in a social science subject using quantitative methods (or have equivalent experience). Your role will include: designing stated preference studies, preparing research ethics applications, assisting in the hosting of discussion group sessions, statistical analysis of stated preference data, econometric analysis of self-reported outcomes data, helping to disseminate research findings and helping to prepare funding applications.

7) Health Economist at RAND Europe

RAND Europe, a not-for-profit research institute, wishes to recruit an exceptional health economist candidate at the Research Assistant level. The role will be based at our Cambridge (UK) office and will work with colleagues not only at RAND Europe but also with our partners at the University of Cambridge in the Cambridge Centre for Health Services Research (CCHSR).
