EuHEA PhD Conference 2021

As previously announced, we kept open the possibility to organize the EuHEA PhD conference 2021 in hybrid format and the hope to welcome some of you in Rotterdam. Unfortunately, with the increasing threat of the delta variant of the coronavirus and all the uncertainty it brings, we can at this point not commit to hosting an event in person. We have therefore decided that theEuHEA PhD Conference 2021 will again be fully online.
The conference includes about 60 paper presentations. In addition, Prof. Dorte Gyrd-Hansen (University of Southern Denmark) will give a plenary talk on “Eliciting social preferences for health care services. Implications and reflections on future research” and Prof. Scott Cunningham (Baylor University) will give a pre-conference workshop on Difference-in-Differences methods. The conference will also include a session on labour market options after a PhD in Health Economics, organized by the EuHEA Early Career Committee. The conference presents a valuable opportunity for PhD students and young researchers in the field of health economics to present their ongoing research and receive important feedback from experienced health economists and peers with expertise in their field of study. It also provides an excellent platform to network with peers, and initiate collaborations with researchers with similar interests. Last but not the least, engagement of supervisors is paramount to this conference. They play a unique role in accompanying their students during the conference while at the same time providing valuable formal and informal feedback to other participants. This is the hallmark of this conference and is viewed as its most valuable component both by students and supervisors.
