Raman Research Institute will be hosting a school on
statistical physics during March 26 --- April 7, 2012.
This is a pedagogical school, aimed at bridging the gap between
masters-level courses and topics in statistical physics at the frontline
of current research. It is intended for Ph.D. students, post-doctoral
fellows and interested faculty members at the college and university
level.
The following courses will be offered.
Physics of polymers
S. M. Bhattacharjee (IOP, Bhubaneshwar)
Measuring nonequilibrium fluctuations
S. Ciliberto (ENS Lyon, France)
Introduction to methods of stochastic processes
A. Dhar and S. Sabhapandit (RRI, Bangalore)
Dynamical systems and fluctuation relations
G. Gallavotti (University of Rome, Italy)
Nonequilibrium work relations and fluctuation theorems
C. Jarzynski (University of Maryland, US)
Brownian motion on curved surfaces
J. Samuel (RRI, Bangalore)
Those interested in participating should apply by email to
[log in para visualizar] by December 15, 2011 with their CV and list of
published papers if any. Students and postdocs should arrange for a letter
