                          POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSISTANT - RS1A

                                 Salary £16,286 -£24,479 p.a.

Applications are invited for several two year EPSRC funded postdoctoral
positions in the Condensed Matter Theory Group in the sub-department of
Theoretical Physics. Current interests of this large group include the
quantum Hall effect, quantum impurity problems, strongly correlated
electrons,
localisation and spin systems, the statistical mechanics of phase
transitions
in pure disordered systems, interfaces, random surfaces and polymer
networks,
non-equilibrium systems, Latttice Boltzmann simulations and neural
networks.
There is also a strong overlap with related work in theoretical particle
physics and in other science departments.
