TITLE: Eliciting health preferences in small and heterogeneous groups: an introduction to preference paths and their kaizen tasks with three examples
Abstract: Health preference research (HPR) currently lacks a form of evidence that is well suited for small and heterogeneous groups, such as patients. A preference path is a sequence of two or more choices showing the evolution of an object following an adaptive process and is more informative than a single multinomial choice.

This presentation will introduce preference paths and their kaizen tasks as well as demonstrate how to analyze their evidence using three examples: (1) how to produce an EQ-5D-5L value set with 20 respondents; (2) how to demonstrate heterogeneity in COVID-19 vaccination preferences; and (3) how to define a successful treatment in children with a surgical condition (i.e., CSOR).
