Introduction to Health Economic Evaluation

The course is long-established and the starting point for anyone involved in the healthcare sector or in health services who needs to be introduced to the language of economics and economic evaluation. It explains how economists evaluate the costs and benefits of health interventions, and how health economics is used by decision makers in the health services and in the pharmaceutical and medical technology industries.
The course has been offered regularly at the University of Oxford for a UK-based audience, with its content applicable to healthcare worldwide and from July 2020 we have been able to offer this course online. No previous knowledge of economics is required.
Participants will get access to around 5 hours of recorded lectures and exercises that can be viewed in advance of two live 90-minute Q&A sessions on 22-23 March 2021.
