PROJECT TITLE: COSEC - Biogenic CO2 capture into Sustainable Energy Carriers: A novel photosynthetic and hydrogenotrophic CO2 fixation combined with waste nutrient upcycling for production of carbon negative energy carriers. CORDIS ID: 101172850.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project aims to develop a biological solution for reducing CO2 emissions from bioenergy combustion systems by converting captured CO2 into carbon-negative energy carriers. It focuses on using photosynthesis to turn biogenic CO2 into energy-rich biomass, which can then be transformed into renewable energy sources like biocrude and biogas, with renewable hydrogen added to promote carbon circularity.
Task to be performed include: design, construction, and operation of batch and continuous bioreactors for biogas production through high-efficiency biotechnologies using microalgae. Preparation of reports and presentations. Other project-related tasks.

DURATION: 01/02/2025 – 30/09/2027 

MONTHLY GROSS SALARY: €1,515.05 (including prorated extra payments)

REQUIREMENTS: 
• Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Biotechnology, Biology (specialization in Biotechnology) or Chemical Engineering.
• Oral and written communication skills in English.
