PLOS ONE Call for Papers on Determinants, Consequences and Management of Obesity.

PLOS ONE is partnering with PLOS Medicine to launch a joint Call for Papers on “Determinants, Consequences and Management of Obesity”. This project will encourage research on obesity from the individual to population level and cover a wide range of determinants and consequences of obesity 

The submissions deadline is set for February 2020 ( https://collections.plos.org/s/obesity-one ). 

Scope:

Genetic, socioeconomic and lifestyle determinants of obesity: risk factors for obesity at the individual and population level including nutrition, economic deprivation, genetic predisposition and physical activity. 

Metabolic consequences of obesity: diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancer. Understanding the burden of obesity and co-morbidities to inform patient management. Epidemiology of disease burden in minority populations or low-middle income countries. 
Strategies to prevent, manage or treat obesity along with its related co-morbidities: behavioural interventions to assist weight loss, population-based interventions such as food or sugary drinks taxation and surgical/pharmacological interventions to treat obesity.
