Call for Papers:
26th Annual Health Economics Conference

October 23-24, 2015

The Department of Public Administration and Policy, the Department of Economics, and the Health Policy Consortium at the University of Georgia are pleased to host the 26th Annual Health Economics Conference (AHEC) October 23-24, 2015.


A small number of papers (with a target of 12) will be selected for the conference. Approximately one hour will be devoted to each paper in order to facilitate in-depth discussion (around 30 minutes for the presenting author, 15 minutes for an assigned discussant, and 15 minutes for discussion with the audience). We invite both theoretical and empirical papers on health economics topics and encourage the participation of economists in all fields whose current research focuses on health care issues. Papers addressing provider and third-party payor incentives and applications of behavioral economics to health are particularly invited, though submissions on any area of health economics will receive full consideration. We will aim for a mix of scholars - both young and experienced, established and new to the field. Papers will be chosen based on their originality, degree of innovation, and rigor.
 
AHEC is an invitation-only conference with attendance restricted to people actively participating as presenters or discussants.

 
Submit a Paper for Presentation
A panel of health economists will select 10 to 12 papers for presentation at AHEC. Selection of participants will be based on abstracts, though full papers are required in advance of the meeting. If you would like to present at AHEC, please submit a completed paper or an extended abstract (1 to 2 pages) no later than 5:00 p.m. EDT Monday, June 8, 2015.

Discussants
While discussants are typically drawn from paper submitters, if you would like to participate as a discussant without submitting an abstract for consideration, please indicate your interest by submitting your information via email at [log in para visualizar] no later than 5:00 p.m. EDT Monday, June 8, 2015.
 
 
Logistics
The conference will run from approximately 8:00 a.m. on Friday, October 23, through 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 24.
