We are seeking to appoint a part time Research Assistant and Masters Studentship in Health Economics and Decision Modelling at Grade 6 level. The post is within the Health Economics and Decision Science (HEDS) section of the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR). You will work within HEDS as part of the Health Economics and Modelling team, providing support to Health Economics/Decision Modelling research staff on a range of applied policy and methodical research.
The projects involve designing and undertaking health economic, statistical, and epidemiological modelling based analyses for policy and health technology. The work is for a wide range of decision makers. The funders/customers include the Department of Health, NICE, Public Health England, pharmaceutical companies, NHS organisations and the major UK research councils.
This post is designed to undertake project work half time and at the same time, undertake part-time education on our Masters in Health Economics and Decision Modelling (HEDM). The MSc in HEDM aims to develop students to be working professionals in Health Technology Assessment (HTA), decision modelling and health economic evaluation. The Masters course fees will be paid for by the department, on behalf of the successful candidate.
A graduate qualification in a numerate subject (e.g. statistic, economics, operational research, mathematics or quantitative sciences or social sciences) is essential and a post-graduate qualification or equivalent is desirable.

The successful candidate will enroll as of September 1st 2018 on the full time structured PhD programme in Economics at NUI Galway and will receive a scholarship for four years, covering fees and a stipend of €16,000 per annum.
Project Description: Health economic evaluation methods are increasingly employed nationally and internationally to inform health policy and healthcare decision making. The PhD candidate will join a multidisciplinary research programme and will develop and deploy health economic evaluation methods for the analysis of healthcare interventions and/or health technologies in the Irish setting. The PhD candidate will be tasked with employing trial-based economic evaluation, decision model-based economic evaluation, and/or applied econometrics methodologies.

The Melbourne Institute of Applied Economic & Social Research at the University of Melbourne seeks a number of enthusiastic, motivated economists with research expertise in applied economic and social research.
We are seeking to fill two positions working in the ‘Health and Healthcare’ theme with individuals with research interests and experience in the financing and organisation of healthcare systems. In particular, those with experience in undertaking research on the behaviour of healthcare providers, the role of financial incentives for providers and patients, health insurance, and competition in healthcare are encouraged to apply. These positions would suit individuals with a background in industrial organisation, labour economics, or health economics.

We are seeking to appoint a Research Associate in Health Economics to be part of the new Rapid Service Evaluation Team (RSET). This is a collaboration between DAHR and the Nuffield Trust, which aims to conduct rapid evaluations of health and care service innovations. The RSET is funded by the NIHR Health Services and Delivery Research programme for five years. Research interests in any area of health economics are encouraged, but candidates will require skills and expertise in undertaking economic evaluations of service innovations in health care.
The post is available immediately and is funded until 31 March 2023 in the first instance. Candidates will require a PhD degree in health economics or equivalent research experience. Appointment will be at Grade 6b (£30,316 -£31,967 per annum) or Grade 7 (£34,635 -£41,864 per annum).
