1) Associate Professor/Senior Research Fellow in Health Economics and Operational Research

At Peninsula Technology Assessment Group, one of the UK’s leading units in health technology assessment, we are looking to recruit an experienced, world-class academic at either Senior Research Fellow or Associate Professor level to lead health economic evaluation and modelling. As a senior postholder in PenTAG, you will lead HTA projects, and develop and execute economic evaluation and operational research projects relevant to public health and health services. This post will be available up to 1.0 FTE.

Join us as we expand our scientific direction in bringing HTA methods across public health and health services. This will include leading and managing multidisciplinary teams of systematic reviewers, epidemiologists, statisticians, health economists, information specialists and clinical experts in producing responsive, high-quality outputs that directly impact national and international health policy. a) Postdoctoral Fellowship in health economics:

B) Researcher in health economics:

This is a full time position in which the successful applicant will contribute to a number of ongoing projects. The main project looks at physicians and caregivers preferences for treatment of drug-resistant epilepsy in children, funded by the National Institute of Health on the US.

3) Centre for Health Economics (CHE), University of York. Reader/Senior Research Fellow in Health Economics

We are seeking to appoint a Reader / Senior Research Fellow in Health Economics dedicated to developing and leading excellent research with policy relevance and impact. The appointee will be based in CHE within the Health Policy Team. The Health Policy Team undertakes applied and methodological economics research to critically appraise and evaluate organisational and incentive structures of the health care system. We have established a portfolio of high quality research on the measurement of organisational performance, evaluation of the behaviour of individuals and organisations within the health care system, and evaluation of health policy. Projects include research into funding and resource flows in the social and health care systems, market analysis, incentives and system management, measurement of the quality of health care, and productivity and efficiency analysis.  We have a significant portfolio of research focused on the economics of mental health and mental health policy which is a core element of CHE's research agenda.

The successful candidate will contribute to internationally outstanding research and scholarship, applying an economic perspective to the quantitative analysis and evaluation of health policy.

4) University of Oxford.  Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences. Research Fellows in Health Economics . Grade 7: £32,817 to £40,322 per annum
 
Following considerable success in the award of new research funding in the area of health economics, we are seeking to appoint to two new positions at the Research Fellow grade. You will join a rapidly expanding group of health economics researchers based at the University of Oxford’s Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences (NDPCHS).
 
The two new post holders will contribute to a broad portfolio of health economics research that encompasses trial-based and modelling-based economic evaluations, systematic reviews, preference elicitation studies, and analyses of both cross-sectional data and cohort study data using econometric techniques.
 
For both posts, you should have a DPhil/PhD in health economics or one of its cognate disciplines, experience of using statistical software (e.g. Stata, R), coupled with the ability to produce high quality health economics research relevant to the health sciences.

5) Post-doctoral Research Fellow in Health Economics, University of Manchester, UK - deadline 4th November 2019

Post tenable for 2 years in the first instance

Starting salary: £41,526 - £51,034 per annum according to experience

This is an exciting post-doctoral position to work on economic issues in the delivery and organisation of health services. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of methodology for the identification and measurement of spillovers and the design and development of a work programme on service issues raised by the early detection of cancer.

You will work with Professor Matt Sutton, Professor of Health Economics, and Dr Rachel Meacock, Senior Lecturer in Health Economics. 

Candidates will need an undergraduate degree in Economics and a PhD in Economics or Health Economics. We will consider candidates who have submitted their PhD thesis and are awaiting examination. They will also need experience of using micro-economic concepts and theory in applied research, and be able to read, critique and synthesise research literature independently. A proven record of productivity is required, including contribution to manuscripts for academic journals.

6) Research Associate / Senior Research Associate (post-doc). University of Bristol, UK

The School of Economics is seeking to appoint a Post-Doctoral Research Associate/ Senior Research Associate in Health Economics on an open ended basis with fixed funding (14-17 months depending on the grade).

This is a post-doctoral position associated with a NORFACE-funded research project on the importance of gene-environment (GxE) interactions in the generation of health and education inequalities across the life course.

Candidates must have a PhD in a quantitative subject (or be about to submit in the next few months), ideally in economics, genetics, epidemiology, or a related discipline, though we are happy to consider applicants with other quantitative backgrounds. Strong quantitative skills, and experience of using statistical software such as Stata, R, SPSS or SAS would be a major advantage.

The closing date is 3 November 2019. It is expected that interviews will be held in December 2019. The proposed start date is 1 March 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Research Associate, fixed term until 2024

The Department of Economics is seeking to appoint a Research Associate (fixed term until 30/09/2024). Applications are welcome from outstanding candidates with research interests in applied health/environmental economics.
 
This is an exciting opportunity to work in the highly policy-relevant area of environment and health. You will be part of a consortium grant entitled “Tackling the root causes of upstream of unhealthy urban development” (TRU3D) that investigates the effects of urban development on health and wellbeing in the United Kingdom. 

Candidates must have an Undergraduate Degree or equivalent in Economics, a Master’s degree in Economics or Health Economics and a PhD in Economics or related quantitative subject. You will also need to demonstrate detailed understanding of micro-econometric techniques. Experience of analysing large administrative data and contributing to publications are also required.

7) Research Fellows in Health Economics, Modelling and Medical Statistics at the University of Exeter

8) Research Fellow (2 posts), CHE, University of York
The Centre for Health Economics (CHE) is seeking to appoint two Research Fellows (Grade 6) in Health Economics to contribute to a range of applied and methodological projects under a programme of work being pursued by the Health Policy team in CHE. The Health Policy Team undertakes applied and methodological economics research to critically appraise and evaluate organisational and incentive structures of the health care system. We have a significant portfolio of research focused on the economics of mental health and mental health policy. The Health Policy Team also hosts the Economics of Social and Health Care Research Unit (ESHCRU)

The successful candidate will contribute to a portfolio of research projects, applying an economic perspective to the quantitative analysis and evaluation of health policy.
