The course is designed and delivered by the book authors who are internationally recognised experts in cost-effectiveness analyses. An exciting addition to the course this year is some new material that focuses on the economic evaluation of diagnostic tests and precision medicine technologies. The implementation of precision medicine technologies in routine clinical practice is a key priority for international policymakers. However, generating the evidence required to demonstrate their clinical- and cost-effectiveness is a significant barrier. On this course, we will spend a day covering the main methodological challenges to economic evaluation in this space, with some practical exercises to guide you through.
 
The course will combine focused pedagogic sessions with practical exercises to provide participants with hands-on experience of building the most common types of cost-effectiveness models. Model uncertainty will be explored as we discuss deterministic and probabilistic sensitivity analyses, and individuals will have a chance to carry out value of information analysis to produce a range of outputs to meet the requirements of reimbursement authorities in Europe and North America.
