                      Lectureship in Applied Mathematics

     Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer in Applied Mathematics,
     with effect from 1 January 1998, or as soon as possible thereafter.
     Applicants should have a strong research record, or evidence of potential
     in research, in continuum mechanics (solid or fluid dynamics), partial
     differential equations or financial mathematics.
     The successful candidate will be expected to teach students in the
     Mathematics Department and to provide ancillary teaching to other
     departments within the College.

     The starting salary will be at an appropriate point on the lecturer
     scale, # 16045 - # 27985, plus a London allowance of # 2134.
