*IFISC’s STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE* is the study, exploration and development 
of *INFORMATION PROCESSING IN AND BY COMPLEX SYSTEMS 
<https://ifisc.uib-csic.es/en/research/maria-de-maeztu-unit-excellence/>*. 
This comprises connecting existing approaches in different fields, 
developing common frameworks and the synthesis of novel information 
processing concepts. More specifically, the focus research lines are:
* INFORMATION PROCESSING IN BIOLOGICAL SYSTEMS
* BRAIN-INSPIRED ANALOG COMPUTING IN PHOTONIC AND ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS
* QUANTUM INFORMATION: DECOHERENCE, DISSIPATION, AND TRANSMISSION
* INFORMATION PROCESSING IN SOCIO-TECHNICAL SYSTEMS
