Querida lista:

Os envío la siguiente convocatoria, por si es de vuestro interés:

Dear AEC member,

During the past three years, the Pre-College Working Group of the
ERASMUS Thematic Network for Music "Polifonia" collected and analysed
information about systems and approaches to music education and training
before the higher education level and about the preparation and
admission of music students to higher music education institutions. This
work resulted in large amount of publications, studies, examples of good
practice and national descriptions of pre-college music education
systems in 26 European countries.

The working group developed amongst others the following two documents:

* The final report "Pre-college music education in Europe",
which summarizes the main findings of the group's work in this area.
This publication is available in English, German and French versions and
can be downloaded at www.polifonia-tn.org/precollege.

* The literature study "Preparing young musicians for
professional training: What does scientific research tell us?"
describing research on the necessity of an early start by music students
and other issues related to music education at the pre-college age. This
study is available at www.polifonia-tn.org/literaturestudy.

The working group would like to present its findings, share its
experiences and discuss this important subject with colleagues from all
over Europe at the conference "Pre-college music education in Europe",
which will take place in Oslo on 30-31 May 2008 hosted by the Barratt
Due Institute of Music and the Norwegian Academy of Music. The
conference will see keynote speeches by practitioners and scientists,
group discussions, presentations of examples of good practice and panel
discussions with experts from all over Europe.

All practical details in relation to this conference (programme,
registration and hotel information form as well as further documents
developed by the pre-college working group) can be found at
www.polifonia-tn.org/precollegeconference
<http://www.polifonia-tn.org/precollegeconference> .

We are very much looking forward to seeing you in Oslo!

With best regards

The Polifonia Team

Saludos cordiales,
