The Vascular Biology Lab is part of the Department of Physiological Sciences at University of Barcelona-Campus Bellvitge and the Translational Medicine program at IDIBELL. The team has several projects focused on understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms that control the behaviour of vascular cells during angiogenesis and blood vessel remodelling in physiological and pathological conditions. Major efforts are focused on unravelling the importance of the vascular system in tumour growth (Onetti et al. Angiogenesis. (2022) 25:155-158), on the pathophysiology of neurodegenerative disorders (Arribas et al. JCI Insight (2024) in press) and on ophthalmological disorders (Figueiredo, Villacampa et al. Circulation (2020) 147:688-704). To meet our goals, we use an interdisciplinary approach that includes genetic tools in mouse, clinical validations in human samples, cell culture models, molecular biology assays, system biology approaches and high-resolution fluorescence microscopy.

What are we looking for?
The candidate will give support to all projects currently running in the lab in terms of mouse colony handling and experimental work, tissue analysis (immunofluorescence) and cell culture.

CFGM in any laboratory-related discipline
Animal license up to date
