“CNIO Friends” International Postdoctoral Research Contracts 2024
The “CNIO Friends” initiative enables the CNIO to hire outstanding research talent from around the world. All philanthropic donations to the CNIO support our Post-Doctoral Research Contract Programme that offers doctors, of all nationalities, the opportunity to carry out a postdoctoral research project at the CNIO.
The call offers SEVEN postdoctoral contracts, for a duration period of 2 years each, open to all areas of cancer research.
Eligibility criteria
Candidates must hold a doctoral degree, obtained after January 2016.
Candidates must have at least one first-author paper, either published or accepted before the application deadline, in a leading international peer-reviewed journal in the Medicine & Life Sciences field.
Benefits of working at the CNIO
The CNIO offers an exciting work environment in a global Centre of Excellence. The CNIO will provide a full-time employment contract, for the duration of 2 years, according to the provisions of the Spanish Law, with entitlement to all the benefits available to CNIO employees.
Remuneration will be commensurate with the salary tables of the CNIO, and will be determined on the basis of the intervening years between the date of completion of the doctorate and the intended start date.
The contract does not imply any obligation on the part of the CNIO after the 2-year contract has been terminated.
At the end of the 1st and 2nd years of their contract, the enrolled "CNIO Friends" Fellow shall submit a report that summarises his/her activities and scientific achievements.
Application Review and Selection Process
The CNIO Evaluation Committee will evaluate candidates. The selection process will be based on the candidate´s CV and previous research experience according to the following criteria: the number and relevance of the publications, previously obtained scholarships, participation in international conferences, recommendation letters and other merits (patents, previous positions in centres of research, etc.).
Non-discrimination and equal access policy
The CNIO actively promotes a policy of non-discrimination and equal access, so that no candidate can be privileged, benefited, harmed or deprived of any right, on basis of age, sex, sexual orientation, marital or family status, economic situation, education, social origin or condition, genetic heritage, reduced working capacity, disability, chronic illness, nationality, race, territory of origin, language, religion, political or ideological convictions, and trade union membership. The CNIO has special policies in place to promote work/life balance in the career development of the employees.
