IRTA is currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Postdoctoral Researcher with a PhD related to Monogastric Animal Nutrition to join the Animal Nutrition Program. We invite applications from ambitious candidates with relevant research experience and passion to conduct research and innovation activities on the monogastric nutrition focused on studying peri and post-natal nutrition strategies and underexploited sources of raw materials from recycled wastes to reduce health incidences and antibiotic overuse in sows and piglets.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
-To contribute to the activities of the research Program, performing scientific and technical tasks, taking part in the planning and execution of the experiments to ensure the achievement of milestones of research projects.
-To perform literature review, data collection and management, involving statistical analysis.
-To contribute to the scientific production of the research and innovation activities of the Program.
-To lead and actively contribute fund rising through the preparation and submission of project proposals for public competitive calls and for contracts with the private sector, as well reporting process, such as writing progress and final reports of research activities.
-To identify opportunities for cutting-edge research and innovation to address strategic priorities of the Animal Nutrition Program.
-To contribute to the teamwork and team-spirit in the Animal Nutrition Program within the Animal Production Area, fostering collaboration and integration activities.

Required qualifications and experience
-Ph.D. in Scientist with Monogastric Nutrition background or related fields applied to the monogastric (preferably) swine animal nutrition with background in Agricultural Engineering, Veterinary Science, Animal Science or similar.
-Previous post-doctoral research experience
-Proved research skills: experience on project proposal writing, literature review, experimental design and implementation, data analysis, scientific article writing.
-Dissemination skills: presentation/communication skills, and technical writing.
-Capacity to successfully develop collaborative research links with national and international research organizations, and the ability to interact closely with private companies.
-Contribute to the teamwork and team-spirit and foster and add to further collaboration and integration and manage staff and resources assigned to the research program.
-Develop a critical mass in the area, by interacting with the other researchers of the team and building a dynamic team of researchers, post-doctoral researchers(s) and post-graduate student
Desirable requirements
-International post-doctoral research experience.
-Expertise in methodological approaches to analyse in vitro and in vivo digestibility evaluation.
-Experience on assessment of the effects of feed processing on feed quality and animal performance.
-Experience on assessment of the effects of nutrition on gut health.
-Statistical knowledge to analyze models related to animal science studies.


Languages
-Proficiency in English
-Catalan and Spanish are valued
