We are looking for a cell culture technician for the biomedical research support unit at the
Aragón Nanoscience and Materials Institute (INMA). This recently created Unit is intended to support INMA researchers by providing scientific and technological advice related to in vitro models and cell cultures. The INMA has been recently awarded with the Severo Ochoa accreditation for Scientific Excellence.
Key responsibilities:
The applicant will work as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting various research groups working on the development of advanced in vitro models, such as hydrogel-based 3D models,
spheroids, and organoids. In addition, the applicant will be responsible for the organization and management of the cell culture laboratory (overseeing of stocks, storage, standardization of protocols, etc.), and for providing training and advice to researchers. The applicant should
have experience or be familiarized with the following techniques and approaches:
• Cell culture
• RNA/DNA extraction
• Real-time PCR, sequencing, cloning of plasmids and viral constructs, RNAseq
• Standard biochemical assays (ELISA, Western Blot, immunocytochemistry, etc.)
Requirements:
1- Education and training:
- A bachelor or master´s degree in molecular biology, biochemistry or similar.
- A PhD degree will be valued positively.
2- Technical skills
- Hands-on experience in advanced in vitro models will be essential.
- Hands-on experience in molecular biology will be essential.
- Experience in genomics and/or proteomics will be valued positively.
- Previous training in a GLP or GLP-like environment will be evaluated positively.
- Holding a training course in animal experimentation (Designing projects and procedures)
will be valued positively.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Dedication, motivation and rigor in scientific pursuits.
Job conditions
- Full-time contract (40 hours/week).
- On-site work.
- 2-year contract with possibility of extension.
- Competitive salary according to qualifications and proven experience.
- Estimated start date: January 2025.
