Predoctoral contract to study pathogenic virus RNA structure

The laboratory of Structural and Computational Biochemistry led by José Gallego at Catholic University of Valencia, Spain  (https://www.ucv.es) offers the possibility of applying for a University-funded predoctoral research contract. The successful candidate will have the opportunity of carrying out an international Ph.D. project where structural biology, biophysical and bioinformatics methods will be applied to study functional RNA elements of pathogenic viruses and their complexes with proteins and small-molecule antiviral drugs.

Who can apply: graduates in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or Pharmacy. You need to have obtained your B.Sc. title after January 1st 2021 and your average academic score needs to be at least 8.1 (1-10 scale). If you are from outside the E.U. a residence permit in Spain is also  required.

Conditions: four-year Ph.D. contract with a gross annual salary of approximately €17,900 progressively incremented to approximately €23,800 (details provided in the link below). The contract covers Ph.D. school expenses and the approximate starting date is fall 2024.
