Dear friends,
This is the announcement of the availability of phpPoA, a PHP-based PAPI
PoA whose first version we have just released. The more salient features
of phpPoA are:
* It implements PAPI-based access control independently of the web
server you are running
* It provides access control to individual pages
* It allows for the configuration of authorization requirements without
need to deal with web server configuration procedures
* Provide PHP-based web applications with a simple access to user
attributes transmitted inside PAPI tokens and assertions
phpPoA is currently distributed as a PHP 5 object. We are working in a
version compatible with the PHP 4 object model.
This is the first of a series of PAPI components that we plan to release
in the near future. These components are intended to support situations
in which it is not feasible to apply the core PAPI software, based on
Apache 1 and mod_perl. The other components we are working in include:
* A Java-based standalone GPoA
* A PoA implemented as a Tomcat filter
* A JSP-based PoA
* An ASP-based PoA
You can access the phpPoA documentation and download the software at

Best regards,
