LECTURESHIPS IN SPANISH (Two 2-year posts)
The Department of Languages is a growing academic unit situated within
the Open University's recently formed Faculty of Education and Language
Studies. The Department specialises in the teaching of and research in
modern languages, and is seeking to appoint two full-time temporary
Lecturers in Spanish to join our academic team based at the Open
University headquarters in Milton Keynes. You will initially contribute
to the development of the Spanish Programme, including our new ab initio
course.
Applications are invited from graduates with a native or near-native
competence in Spanish (including a knowledge of Latin American Spanish
and cultures). Wide experience of language teaching, particularly at ab
initio level and to adult students is also essential.
You should also have experience in the development of language learning
materials, preferably for open learning, and knowledge and experience of
assessment and language competence standards.
Evidence of experience in the use of ICT for language learning and
teaching is also required for one of the Lectureship posts.
The appointments will be made at an appropriate point on Academic salary
scale £18,731 - £23,256 pa or £24,227 - £30,967 pa, depending on
qualifications and experience.
