Application is now open for the
Ibn Tibbon Translation Studies Doctoral and Teacher Training Summer
School, organized by University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), Boğaziçi
University (Turkey), University of Turku and University of East
Finland (Finland), University of Granada (Spain), and to be held at
the University of Granada (Spain) in June 2014.
The School
is open to doctoral students, teachers of translation at the MA level,
and other academics and professionals who are involved in research in
Translation Studies.
Basic activities of the Emuni Ibn
Tibbon Summer School:
a) A critical discussion of most current
approaches to translation theory, paying particular attention to the
contemporary research of literary and non-literary works in a
historical perspective.
b) A presentation and critical discussion
of different methodological approaches in TS, focusing in particular
on researching translation from the perspective of historical and
sociological studies or through the use of ethnographic and corpus
studies approaches.
c) A series of lectures by the guest
professor.
d) Teacher-training in the field of translator
training.
e) Tutorials for the doctoral students and young
researchers.
f) A graduate conference.
