Special issue on
We would like to cordially invite you to consider contributing an article to the special issue on ‘Translation and Interpretation Studies’ of the International Journal of Language & Applied Linguistics.
Translation and interpreting have long helped inter-communication. But they are not simply a linguistic process. They are much more complex than replacing a given source language with the target language, and include cultural, political, situational and educational nuances, for mentioning some of them, that can shape the attitudes and understanding of the recipients. We live in an inter-linked world, full of languages and communication needs, that is why the growth of centres for teaching Translation and Interpretation has widely increased in the past years over the world. 21st century society cannot be understood without this multilingual approach.
Thus, the aim of this issue is to promote the discussion and dissemination of new ideas and practices in this field. Researchers can present a complete and detailed specification of the many approaches that his topic brings to the sphere. Authors are invited to submit their papers in English, presenting the results of original research or innovative practical applications in Translation or Interpretation.
Key topics in this issue will focus on (but are not limited to):
- Audiovisual translation and localisation
- Didactics of translation and interpreting
- Legal and business translation
- Literary and editorial translation
- Medical translation
- Scientific and Technical translation
