Seeking a post-doctoral candidate in complex systems, or a related field, to implement a generalized approach to understanding and predicting biological systems. The work will initially be targeted to understanding how energy manipulations, both thermal and photonic, influence enclosed aquatic ecosystems. The fellow will work closely with a biology PhD student who is running the experiments and gathering biogeochemical data. Calorimeteric, metagenomic, metatranscriptomic, and metabolomic data will be used to parameterize the models.
The successful applicant will work with Dr. Antoni Luque (Math and Physics) and Dr. Forest Rohwer (Biology). The post-doc will be expected to collaborate within the interdisciplinary working group in the Viral Information Institute (VII) at San Diego State University (
https://viralization.org/). The VII includes PIs from math, physics, engineering, chemistry, and biology.
