*Junior postdoc position in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, within the 
research project "Lagrangian transport of marine litter and 
microplastics in coastal waters: structures of transport and 
connectivity patterns"*

IFISC (Institute for Cross-Disciplinary Physics and Complex Systems) 
offers a postdoc position to work on the research project /"Lagrangian 
transport of marine litter and microplastics in coastal waters: 
structures of transport and connectivity patterns"./

The project is about applications of tools and concepts from Complex 
Systems theory and Nonlinear Dynamics like Lagrangian Coherent 
Structures, Flow Networks and Machine-learning, to analyze the 
dispersion of microplastics in the oceans.

Interested candidates with a background in Complex Systems, 
Oceanography, Fluid Mechanics and/or Nonlinear Dynamics are requested to

applicant.

We offer a 18 months contract. The gross annual salary (before taxes) is

30.300€. The contract includes all benefits of the Spanish Public Health 
and Social Security systems. There is associated additional financial 
support for the participation in conferences and scientific meetings.

The successful candidate will work with the senior researchers of the 
project, Emilio Hernández-García, Cristóbal López and Enrico 
Ser-Giacomi, and will collaborate with researchers of IMEDEA (Mallorca) 
and AZTI (San Sebastian).

as soon as possible, and preferably no later than spring 2022.
