Dear Colleague,

This is the announcement and call for contributions to the "XXVII Sitges
Conference on Statistical Mechanics", that will take place in Sitges, a
charming seaside resort near Barcelona, Spain, from the 29th of May until
the 2nd of June 2023.

The title of the forthcoming edition of the Sitges Conference will be
"Nonequilibrium Phenomena: from Quantum to Macroscopic Scales”. In this
meeting we aim to stimulate discussion on out-of-equilibrium systems at
different scales, encouraging a multidisciplinary vision within the
framework of statistical mechanics. With the participation of leading
researchers working on cutting-edge topics, we will focus on new methods
for the description of nonequilibrium effects in diverse situations of
relevance for the community.

With the organization of this Conference, we will provide a unique
opportunity to exchange points of view, to promote contacts and new
collaborations, and to create a forum for debate that can help us to give
answers to the many open questions in this vast domain of current research.

We are pleased to announce the following list of Confirmed Plenary Speakers:

Janet Anders (University of Exeter)
Eli Barkai (Bar-Ilan University)
Clemens Bechinger (Universität Konstanz)
Pierre Gaspard (Université libre de Bruxelles)
Peter Hänggi (Universität Augsburg)
Ralf Metzler (University of Potsdam)
Jukka Pekola (Aalto University)
Julia Yeomans (University of Oxford)

The list of plenary and invited contributors will be periodically updated
in the conference web-page.

We are also pleased to announce the Best Poster Award of the Sitges
Conference. The award is sponsored by MDPI's open access journal Entropy
and consists of a monetary prize of CHF 300 and a certificate.

Important Dates:

Abstract submission deadline 21 March 2023
Announcement of acceptance of abstracts 7 April 2023
Early registration fee payment 14 April 2023

If you are interested in presenting a talk or a poster communication,
please indicate so in your registration and submit a single page abstract
following the instructions that can be found in the web page.

We would be very grateful if you could circulate the conference notice to
your colleagues, post-docs, and Ph.D. students, and encourage them to
submit talks and/or posters.

We are looking forward to seeing you in Sitges!
