In the framework of the recently formed European Union Training and Mobility
of Researchers Network {\em ``Fractals in Nature''}, there is a postdoctoral
research position in theoretical statistical physics available for initially
one year, with further extension possible, in the group of Prof. Franz Schwabl
at the TU M\"unchen, Germany, starting autumn 1998 or later. Interactions with
the various European universities and research centers participating in the
Network are encouraged.

Applications are invited from EU citizens with research experience in the
theory of either static and dynamic critical phenomena, non-equilibrium phase
transitions, self-organised criticality, reaction-diffusion systems, or related
topics. Computational expertise and / or experience in relevant analytical
tools (field theory, renormalisation group) is required.

Please send your written application, including a curriculum vitae, a list of
publications, a statement of research interests, and at least two letters of
